Areas of Practice

Mr. Chong is a seasoned in-house attorney with more than 30 years of experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, finance, securities law, intellectual property and litigation. He has been the general counsel of two Fortune 500 companies and the deputy general counsel of another. Most recently, he was the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Broadcom Corp., a semiconductor company based in Irvine, prior to its sale to Avago Technologies.  Before that he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Safeco Corporation, a property and casualty insurance company in Seattle which was sold to Liberty Mutual.  Mr. Chong began his in-house career at McKesson Corporation, a healthcare services and information technology company based in San Francisco, where he rose to the position of Deputy General Counsel.
