Stephanie J. Helfrich

Stephanie Helfrich is an associate in the Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office.

Areas of Practice

Ms. Helfrich's practice includes endangered species, wetlands, water quality and land use matters. She advises and represents clients on issues that arise in project planning and permitting, regulatory compliance and land use litigation for residential, commercial and mixed use development projects. Ms. Helfrich frequently works as part of a team of attorneys coordinating complex natural resource permitting to comply with myriad state and federal regulatory requirements. In addition to her experience negotiating with regulators and other stake holders to gain development entitlements, she also works with clients to ensure ongoing compliance with permit requirements and conditions, drafting conservation agreements and negotiating long term management agreements for preserved lands.

Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Ms. Helfrich's practice included corporate transactional matters, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, public and private equity financings, and SEC compliance issues. Before practicing law, Ms. Helfrich worked as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Tim Johnson, and has experience working for the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Forest Service.
