Robert J. Wynne

Robert J. Wynne is a Senior Advisor in the Entertainment and Media Practice Group in the firm's Century City office where he advises the Firm and Firm clients with respect to a broad range of domestic and international entertainment industry matters.

Areas of Practice

Mr. Wynne is a former Co-President and Chief Operating Officer of Sony Pictures Entertainment. During his tenure at SPE, Mr. Wynne managed the day-to-day business, operations and strategic planning of the Company and was responsible for the oversight of SPE's television business as well as the Company's financial, legal, risk management, human resources, studio operations and other corporate functions.  In addition, Mr. Wynne worked closely with the Company's CEO in managing its relationships with Sony Corporation and its affiliates and assisted SPE's CEO in the Company's overall leadership.

Prior to joining SPE as a member of its senior management, Mr. Wynne served as a founding senior partner of Hill Wynne Troop and Meisinger, a prominent Los Angeles law firm that has since merged with a large U.S. based international law firm.  During his two decades with HWTM, Mr. Wynne built a preeminent national and international practice representing institutional entertainment and media companies and other businesses on a broad range of domestic and international entertainment-related corporate and business matters, including: mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings, public and private debt and other financing transactions (including domestic and international tax advantaged film and television financings), venture capital transactions, joint venture agreements and strategic alliances, content acquisition, development, production, distribution, marketing, licensing, out-put transactions and other related intellectual property rights transactions.

Mr. Wynne began his legal career with McKenna & Fitting, a Los Angeles based law firm noted for its financial institutions practice, where first as an associate and then as a partner, he specialized in tax and corporate matters, primarily for financial institutions.
