Philip Daniels is an associate in the Entertainment, Media and Communications Practice Group in the firm's Century City office.

Areas of Practice

Mr. Daniels advises high profile talent and companies on all aspects of the entertainment industry.  He has experience in all matters relating to music, new media and technology.  Mr. Daniels has represented Beyonce, Will Smith, Herbie Hancock, Gwen Stefani and other well known recording artists, songwriters and producers.  He has expertise in all digital and technology matters including structuring, drafting and providing strategic advice on deals for Internet and mobile platforms.  Mr. Daniels has specific expertise advising clients operating in the social networking space on the development and distribution of digital content and digital premium goods.  He has negotiated deals with Yahoo!, MSN, Daily Motion and My Space for the distribution of content along with a number of technology infrastructure agreements around the provision of social networking tools and delivery of content.

Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Mr. Daniels was a senior associate at Goldring, Hertz & Lichtenstein LLP in Beverly Hills.  He was also an in-house lawyer at BBC Worldwide in London, England, where he was a member of the Internet and Interactive division of BBC Worldwide covering the UK and Europe.  Mr. Daniels was a senior associate at McGrigors Solicitors and an associate at Lee & Thompson Solicitors, both based in London, England.
