Crystina P. Coats

Crystina P. Coats is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Del Mar Heights office.

Ms. Coats concentrates on technology-based transactions, including transactions with an emphasis on intellectual property rights.  She represents international and domestic companies in computer technology, digital entertainment, clean technology, telecommunications, and life sciences industries in technology transactions.

Her transactional practice involves the acquisition, transfer and protection of intellectual property rights and other assets in the context of mergers and acquisitions, development, manufacturing and distribution agreements, services transactions, fee arrangements, strategic collaborations, and patent, trademark and software licensing agreements.  She also assists life sciences businesses in drug and device research and development contracting matters. 

Ms. Coats has also represented clients in litigation matters involving patent infringement and misappropriation of trademarks and trade secrets. She has experience in electronic discovery, including litigation holds and the preservation and use of electronic information. 

Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Ms. Coats was an associate at the San Diego office of DLA Piper.
