Dante M. DiPasquale is an associate in the Entertainment, Media and Technology Practice Group in the firm’s New York and Century City offices.
Areas of Practice
Dante represents recording artists, studios, production companies and networks in several aspects of the entertainment industry including music, film, digital media, advertising, sports and television. Dante has experience drafting and negotiating various types of software, music, content and name and likeness license agreements, advising clients on rights acquisition agreements and options, reviewing chain of title, preparing and negotiating joint promotion alliances, researching claims of alleged infringement of music compositions and sound recordings, reviewing recording, remixer, facility and performance agreements, clearing advertising copy and advising clients on contest and sweepstakes promotions, performing diligence in connection with mergers and acquisitions in the entertainment industry, forming limited liability companies and drafting operating agreements, and analyzing issues arising under online privacy policies, terms of use policies and various guild agreements.
Dante has also worked on matters involving the protection and enforcement of clients’ intellectual property rights, and has handled many facets of the litigation process in commercial disputes on matters involving breach of contract claims, real estate and lease agreements, labor and employment issues, lender/borrower disputes, and alleged trademark, copyright and trade dress infringement.
Dante is also co-founder of, and talent buyer for, Winter Circle Productions LLC, a live music production and promotion company based out of New Orleans, which provides him with unique insight into any transactional or litigation issue facing the music industry. Prior to his work at Sheppard Mullin, Dante was also a law clerk at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Regional Counsel.
