Gregory E. Woodard is an associate working in the Real Estate, Land Use and Natural Resources and Litigation Practice Groups in the firm's Orange County office.

Areas of Practice

Mr. Woodard's practice includes land use and real estate litigation, with an emphasis on the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA"), real property, and condemnation actions.  Mr. Woodard has represented corporations, developers and other private entities in actions involving compliance with CEQA, real estate disputes, and eminent domain suits.

Mr. Woodard has litigated land use and real estate cases involving a public entity's failure to comply with environmental and local planning laws, as well as easement disputes, quiet title challenges, and condemnation actions.  He also has handled business litigation actions including contract disputes, intellectual property, and employment matters.

Clerkships

  • While at UCLA, Mr. Woodard clerked for the Hon. Gary Taylor of the United States District Court for the Central District of California
  • As a first-year attorney, Mr. Woodard second-chaired a business litigation matter for the plaintiff in a dispute over the leasing of office equipment.  He helped secure a jury verdict in favor of his client, including an award of punitive damages against the defendant for fraud.
  • Mr. Woodard second-chaired a business litigation matter in a bench trial involving his client's right to recover title to real property.  He helped secure a verdict in favor of his client.
  • Mr. Woodard recently helped obtain summary judgment for a client defending against a quiet title action challenging the client's right to construct a project on land owned by Southern California Edison.
