Dr. Lee-Ann Smith-Freeman specializes in intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent prosecution. She has particular expertise preparing and prosecuting patent applications in diverse technological fields, including those of chemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, scintillators, data storage systems, wireless networks, and mechanical devices, among others.
She received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Southern California. Her graduate research involved the synthesis and ultraviolet photochemistry of the group-V hydrides, with a specific focus on the relativistic effects associated with the heavier members thereof.
After her graduate studies, she received her J.D. with an honors certificate in High Technology Law and Intellectual Property from Santa Clara University, School of Law. Dr. Lee-Ann Smith-Freeman is a member of the State Bar of California, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
