Mr. Holder is an associate in the Business Trial practice group in the Del Mar Heights office. Mr. Holder also works in the Labor and Employment practice group.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Holder has a wide array of experience in complex civil litigation, as well as labor and employment litigation. He has worked extensively with fact and expert witnesses during investigations, discovery, and trial, and has significant briefing experience in the pleading, discovery, trial, and appellate stages of litigation. Mr. Holder has represented clients in state and federal court, as well as before numerous state and federal agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board.
Mr. Holder’s diverse experience in complex civil litigation includes the following types of representative matters:
- Representing real estate developers and contractors as plaintiffs and defendants in disputes involving claims for breach of contract, negligence, construction defect, fraud, and interference with contract;
- Defending a large insurance brokerage against complex claims of unfair competition and statutory violations;
- Representing aerospace companies as plaintiffs and defendants in breach of contract claims;
- Defending a major auto manufacturer against claims of breach of contract and fraud;
- Representing manufacturers and retailers as both plaintiffs and defendants in claims involving false advertising and unfair competition;
- Prosecuting and defending against claims involving misappropriation of trade secrets;
- Defending an industrial supplier against claims for product liability, negligence, breach of warranty, and indemnity;
- Defending a major oil and gas company against claims of wrongful death and negligence;
- Defending a Fortune 10 executive against claims of criminal conspiracy and securities fraud; and
- Defending a major law firm against claims of legal malpractice.
Mr. Holder’s experience in labor and employment litigation includes the following the types of representative matters:
- Defending employers against discrimination and harassment claims;
- Defending employers against breach of contract claims;
- Defending employers against claims involving wage and hour violations, including overtime, off-the-clock, reporting time penalties, prevailing wage violations, and meal period and rest break violations;
- Representing employers and their agents in workplace violence, civil harassment, and identity theft proceedings, including by obtaining temporary restraining orders and injunctive relief;
- Defending employers against claims for pension and health contributions under ERISA;
- Representing employers in all forms of National Labor Relations Board proceedings, including defending against unfair labor practice charges, prosecuting unfair labor practice charges, and handling election campaigns and other related petitions; and
- Providing advice to employers regarding all of the above types of claims and proceedings.
