Madelyn Ma is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group in the firm's Shanghai Office.

Areas of Practice

Madelyn has experience in a variety of intellectual property matters.

Madelyn represents clients in all kinds of industries in their trademark prosecution, opposition, litigation, cancellation, transfer, assignment, well-known trademark matters in China and Hong Kong and supervise local counsels in such proceedings.  She has experience with reclaiming clients’ trademark from prior registrants in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and advises clients on brand protection and trademark management in China.  She also assisted Chinese client with trademark application, office action, and transfer in US.

Madelyn is experienced with domain name registration and disputes in Asia.  She advises clients in domain name infringement cases in Asia and assisted clients in negotiating domain name purchases. She actively protects clients’ intellectual property rights, assisted clients in investigation and internet take-down. She is experience in copyright registration and protection in China.  She also represents clients in patent prosecution and litigation in China.

She represents client in all kinks of IP search and filing; assisted clients enforcing their IP rights by way of negotiation, administration and litigation.  She has experience of performing IP Due Diligence in IP transactions, and negotiating and drafting intellectual property licenses.

Madelyn also has experience in the entertainment and media industry.  She assists international and U.S. entertainment and media companies with the development, production, acquisition and distribution of motion pictures.  She has knowledge in gaming company and online game regulations in China.
