03.12.2007

Phil Atkins-Pattenson, San Francisco-based Business Trial partner, has been honored with a 2007 Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) award in the "Environment" category. Atkins-Pattenson was recognized by the editors of California Lawyer magazine for his pro bono representation of the Natural Resources Defense Council and other environmental groups in the San Joaquin River restoration matter over the past 16 years. San Francisco Real Estate attorneys Dave Madway and Bob Thompson received a CLAY award in "Land Use" for their roles in the $420 million public-private retail and entertainment development project, Westfield San Francisco Centre. Madway, former general counsel of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency, was one of the public attorneys involved in the deal prior to joining Sheppard Mullin. Thompson represented the landowner, Federated Department Stores, in the deal.
