What Happens if You Get Sued? Litigation Basics

Third Thursday Emerging Company Webinar Series
via WebEx
12.17.2015

12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. (PST)

Please join Sheppard Mullin for our monthly Third Thursday Emerging Company Webinar Series educating entrepreneurs and emerging companies on the key legal issues they face during the growth of their companies. These complimentary 1-hour webinars are held through WebEx on the third Thursday of the month at noon. They will have both an audio and PowerPoint component.

When your company gets sued, what steps should you take immediately and what do you need to be concerned about in the first 30 days of the case? Although cases take a long time to get to trial (and most never make it that far), the beginning of litigation is a critical time where several important issues must be considered. During this time, you must:

  • Consider insurance issues
  • Take steps to preserve evidence
  • Identify counsel
  • Consider the effects of litigation upon personnel decisions
  • Consider procedural advantages available to defendants at an early stage

This webinar will cover these issues and much more for anyone whose job may occasionally include managing the defense of claims against the company.
