Corporate Partner Roger Klein Joins Sheppard Mullin Washington D.C.

Prominent Attorney Deepens Firm's East Coast Transactional Presence

Roger A. Klein has joined the Washington, D.C. office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as a partner in the firm's Corporate practice group.  Klein most recently was a partner at Howrey LLP in Washington, D.C., chair of the firm's Corporate and Transactional practice and general counsel to the firm. 

Klein has more than 35 years of experience involving multinational corporate and commercial transactions.  He has served as lead counsel in corporate acquisitions totaling billions of dollars, including acquisitions of several large defense contractors, a large luxury hotel, major sports facilities, luxury cruise ships and numerous publications.  Klein has provided representation with respect to a wide range of commercial matters, including debt and equity financing, teaming arrangements, employment contracts, distribution arrangements and real estate transactions.  In addition, he has counseled corporations with respect to internal investigations, including option-granting practices and corporate governance-related issues and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act related matters.  Klein served for several years as a member, and during his final year of service as the Vice-Chair of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals Board on Professional Responsibility.

Klein received a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1974 and a B.A. from Washington University (St. Louis) in 1971.
