Special Counsel Russell Leu Joins Sheppard Mullin Beijing

Sheppard Mullin is pleased to announce that special counsel Russell K. L. Leu joins the firm's China practice in Beijing. The addition of Russell Leu further strengthens the firm's presence in China and demonstrates our commitment to clients with China-related interests and the strategic importance it places on China.  

Leu has broad experience having worked on handling PRC-related inbound matters, advising clients on foreign direct investment, intellectual property, operational and regulatory matters. He has a wealth of experience relating to outbound matters, including having an extensive background in handling litigation and insolvency matters.  

Leu was formerly with the China practice of the U.S. law firm Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP and had served as the firm's Chief Representative and Managing Attorney. He is currently the Co-Chair of the China Committee of the International Section of the American Bar Association and has served as the Associate Dean and Professor of Law at the Law School of Beijing Foreign Studies University.  

Leu received his BA from University of Massachusetts in 1977 and JD from University of San Francisco in 1984. He is admitted to the courts of the State of Hawaii.  Leu has lived and worked in Beijing since 2004, and speaks Mandarin and English.
