Andrés Cantero, Jr. is an associate in the Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group in the firm's Los Angeles office. He is a member of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Attorney Network (DIAN) and Out at Sheppard LGBTQ Group. Mr. Cantero is also a part of the firm’s Latin America Practice Group, a global initiative to provide specialized legal representation to Hispanic/Latino-owned companies and companies focused on the U.S. Latino market.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Cantero’s practice focuses on land use planning, real estate finance, and commercial lending and tax credit transactions in the renewable energy sector.
Mr. Cantero advises developers and property owners regarding the application of general plans, specific plans, local zoning and municipal code provisions in jurisdictions throughout California. He assists clients in obtaining and negotiating development entitlements and regulatory approvals for a wide range of projects in California. Mr. Cantero has experience working on a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, including projects with affordable housing, residential hotel replacement units and transitional/supportive services.
Mr. Cantero also represents clients in real estate transactions including purchase and sale agreements, option agreements, and public-private partnerships.
Lastly, Mr. Cantero’s practice also includes representing tax equity investors or sponsors in tax equity or commercial lending transactions for renewable energy projects.
