David T. Kim is an associate in the Intellectual Property Group in the firm’s Palo Alto office. 

Areas of Practice

David focuses his practice on patent prosecution with an emphasis on software and electrical arts. 

Prior to becoming an attorney, David worked as an embedded system engineer for five years. He designed and implemented communication protocols, signal processing, device drivers, and user interfaces.

Today, drawing on his knowledge and experience, David helps companies and individuals pursue IP protection in various areas of technology. He represents clients in a wide array of technologies, including social networking systems, autonomous driving, automotive components, medical systems, virtual assistants, navigational systems, security systems, telecommunications, wagering systems, payment processing systems, data collection and reporting systems, electrical components, and semiconductors.

David is fluent in Korean.
