Sheppard Mullin's IP practice continues to grow. Since 2010, the IP practice group has strategically grown from 45 to over 100 IP professionals firmwide. We represent leading and emerging companies, and take pride in offering a diverse, collaborative team of attorneys and patent agents who are committed to professional excellence in a collegial environment. In 2015, we were recognized by Law360 as an "Intellectual Property Practice Group of The Year."

Our downtown Palo Alto office, which has been consistently named by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Area’s “Best Places to Work,” is seeking junior and mid-level associates, staff attorneys, and patent agents for its rapidly expanding patent prosecution and strategy practice. The Palo Alto office provides unparalleled opportunities to work with top clients, ranging from publicly-traded household names in the tech industry to high profile Silicon Valley startups, on their technologies and related patent needs. The Palo Alto office’s EE/CS/CE patent team uniquely maintains a close-knit, casual office environment that fosters teamwork and ample career development opportunities. Further, senior lawyers in the practice will actively provide training and assist with career development.

Successful candidates will be located full-time in our Palo Alto office. A computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering degree, or the like, as well as admission to the patent bar are a MUST in addition to top academic qualifications. Qualified applicants should send their resume, transcripts, and a writing sample to Candace Sundine who can be reached here: CSundine@sheppardmullin.com.
