Litigation Secretary


The Dallas office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP has an immediate opening for a Litigation Secretary.  We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of 5 years of law firm experience in General litigation.  Solid knowledge of federal e-filings, trial procedures and court rules is required.  The ideal candidate will have excellent technical, organizational and administrative skills as well as strong interpersonal relationship skills.  The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast paced environment.  This person should be able to work under pressure, remain flexible, be proactive, resourceful and efficient.  Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities on a busy desk. Experience working with a document management system and advanced knowledge of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat required.

As a Litigation Secretary, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: edit, input and transmit legal documents, prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service, as well as create pleading and discovery binders, index, organize and file case documents. You will schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters as well as arrange conference calls, on-site and off-site meetings and arrange travel.

Successful candidate must have excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation as well as the ability to learn new skills and systems quickly.
