Michael Berman is an associate in the Real Estate and Finance & Bankruptcy Practice Groups in the firm's Washington, D.C. and New York offices.
Areas of Practice
Mr. Berman's practice focuses on the representation of investment banks, lending institutions, real estate funds, developers, investors and operators in a variety of commercial real estate transactions including acquisition, disposition, financing, joint venture, and leasing transactions for a variety of asset classes including, hotels, shopping centers, multi-family properties, retail, office and industrial buildings, condominiums and specialty projects. In addition, Mr. Berman has significant experience in the structuring and closing of mortgage loan transactions for securitization in the capital markets, as well as conventional permanent, construction, acquisition and bridge financings, syndications and participation loans including A/B structures, mezzanine loans, credit tenant loans, and the acquisition and disposition of mortgage loans.
During his time in law school, Mr. Berman served as an Associate Note Editor for the Cardozo Public Law, Policy and Ethics Journal. Upon graduation, he was an honored recipient of a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution.
