Matthew Pangle is an associate in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group in the firm's Century City office.

Matt's practice focuses on corporate, entertainment, and due diligence matters. He also has experience with intellectual property issues including entity formation, copyright and trademark applications, and music licensing.
Professional and Educational Background
Matt earned his J.D. at the University of Richmond School of Law where he served as the Annual Survey of Virginia Law Editor of the University of Richmond Law Review, overseeing the journal’s most widely-read annual publication. While in law school Matt was also a law clerk for a nationally recognized entertainment law firm where he assisted on intellectual property agreements for music, books, movies, and documentaries.
In 2019 Matt won the Virginia State Bar Intellectual Property Writing Competition and upon graduation received the Class of 2020 Faculty Award for Excellence in the Field of Intellectual Property.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Matt earned his B.A. in music performance and M.A. in education from Virginia Tech and was a high school band and choir director in Virginia. Matt brings his passion for music and the creative arts to Sheppard Mullin, lending unique perspective to help clients maximize their creative success.
