This year is an interesting year in China given the leadership transition taking place throughout 2013. The leadership changes and policy implications have had a profound impact foreign business in China, and this program will review the ongoing development of the rule of law in China and provide a discussion on the likely trends for foreign investors doing business in China. The program will address recent developments with respect to a number of China’s laws and regulations affecting foreign investment approvals and restrictions, anti-monopoly and competition law, labor/employment law, taxation and customs, development of the judiciary and impact on foreign investors, and restraints on the internet and free speech. The program will further address a number of key trends affecting foreign business with respect to criminal and civil enforcement of China’s anti-bribery laws, state secrets laws, and privacy rules.
