This lively and informative program will examine the use of the “deferred prosecution agreement,” or DPA, in complex criminal cases in the UK.

With the passage of the Crime and Courts Act 2013, UK prosecutors now have access to this controversial procedure that has been in the arsenal of US prosecutors for decades. The panelists, including Sheppard Mullin Partner Scott Maberry, will discuss what this new law may mean for complex criminal investigations in the UK. Topics covered will include the history of the DPA, the pros and cons for prosecutors and the accused, practice tips from the US experience, and unique aspects of the UK law, all with a view to providing an outlook for UK corporates on what to expect under the new law in the coming years.

Additional information will become available closer to the event date.

CPD Credit
This program is SRA accredited with 1 CPD hours.
