What you need to know about doing business in and traveling to Cuba from experts in the field.

Interested in doing business in Cuba? Our expert panelists will show you how to take advantage of these opportunities and avoid the pitfalls.

The easing of Cuban sanctions provides commercial opportunities for U.S. businesses. The Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) amended the Cuban Assets Control Regulations to implement changes in U.S. policy toward Cuba. The amendments permit travel to Cuba for certain purposes, authorize certain travel- services, and liberalize financial transactions with Cuba. At the same time, the U.S. Department of Commerce has issued amended regulations allowing the export of certain goods from the United States to Cuba. We will also provide helpful reminders on how to comply with U.S. anti-bribery and anti-money laundering laws in relation to Cuban business.

Plan to travel to Cuba? Although the travel embargo is being loosened, tourist travel is still prohibited, and the rules for authorized travel are still somewhat complex. We will provide advice on how to avoid inadvertent sanctions violations when traveling to the island.
