Sheppard Mullin Represents GoldenTree Asset Management in $392 Million Purchase of Syncora Guarantee

Today Syncora Holdings Ltd., a Bermuda-domiciled holding company, announced it has signed an agreement to sell Syncora Guarantee Inc., its wholly owned, New York financial guarantee insurance subsidiary, to Star Insurance Holdings LLC, a newly formed entity organized by GoldenTree Asset Management LP on behalf of GoldenTree’s managed funds and accounts, for $392.5 million.
Sheppard Mullin, led by New York partner Lawrence A. Larose and San Francisco partner Todd Padnos, and co-counsel Sidley Austin represented GoldenTree in the transaction. Goldin Associates LLC served as financial advisor to GoldenTree.
