Esperance Becton is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Healthcare Industry team.

Areas of Practice

Esperance advises healthcare clients, including hospitals and health systems, provider groups, technology companies, telehealth providers, and commercial insurers on a range of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions and governance matters. Her representative scope of practice spans transactional matters, as well as state and federal regulatory matters, including issues involving HIPAA/data privacy and confidentiality, regulatory compliance, information blocking laws, state and federal fraud, waste and abuse laws. In her telehealth practice, Esperance counsels clients on federal and state laws concerning scope of coverage, reimbursement, consent, licensure, privacy and documentation requirements.

Esperance brings a breadth of healthcare industry knowledge to her client work due to her broad background in healthcare. Prior to joining the firm, Esperance was a healthcare transactional and regulatory associate in the Washington D.C. office of a global law firm with a nationally ranked healthcare practice. Prior to that, she worked as a Health Law Fellow at MedStar Health, the largest healthcare system in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. region, and was a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
