Traditional Labor: represented employers in ULP charges and union grievances; conducted union avoidance trainings; and counseled management during union organizing campaigns

  • Part of labor team that represented national drugstore chain embroiled in multi-forum litigation against the 1199 SEIU
  • Litigated 5 separate and highly technical grievances filed by the Teamsters challenging the reasonableness of a large grocery logistics company’s production standards

Wage & Hour Litigation: represented employers in wage and hour suits in California state and federal courts

  • Defended foreign tech company against misclassification suit filed by a highly-compensated independent contractor in Alameda Superior Court
  • Defended national restaurant chain against misclassification suit filed by a manager threatening a class action

Employment Litigation: represented employers in wide range of employment actions in administrative forums and state and federal courts

  • Convinced supervising partner to file cross-claim for invasion of privacy based on plaintiff’s admissions concerning surreptitious recordings of conversations held with company representatives;
  • Drafted demurrers to FEHA, UCL, invasion of privacy, and tort causes of action asserted against parent company and subsidiary stemming from conduct of job interview by manager for subsidiary
  • Conducted pre-litigation investigation on behalf of employer that terminated pregnant employee for sending Spanish-language text messages with sexual undertones;
