Ryota is licensed to practice as a patent attorney in Japan and has a strong connection with the Japanese IP community. His extensive legal experience in both the United States and Japan enables him to assist clients in establishing a worldwide patent portfolio. He has worked with a wide range of technologies, including computer software and hardware (e.g., applications, networks, computer and network security, data storage, wireless, graphical user interfaces, etc.), medical devices (e.g., optics, dialysis machines), copy machines and semiconductors.
Before obtaining his J.D. in the United States, Ryota worked for 5 years as a patent engineer at Canon, Inc. in Tokyo. At Canon, he was fully engaged in both domestic and foreign patent prosecution and licensing of acquired patents in the areas of semiconductor manufacturing apparatus, semiconductor devices, organic electroluminescent displays (OLED), optical technology of cameras, and copying machines.
