Areas of Practice
Seema’s practice focuses on advising digital media companies, production companies, studios, independent producers, major brands, and advertising agencies on transactional matters related to entertainment and branded content, including the acquisition of intellectual property rights as well as the development, finance, production, distribution, marketing and other exploitation of entertainment and branded content. Seema also counsels brands and individuals on the negotiation of sponsorship, licensing and celebrity endorsement agreements, joint ventures, and motion picture and television financing arrangements.
Professional and Educational Background
Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Seema spent four years as an associate in the corporate group of a premiere global law firm where she represented public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings. Seema has also previously worked in the legal affairs department at NBC Universal.
Seema earned her J.D. from NYU School of Law, her Masters of Fine Arts in writing from Columbia University School of the Arts and her undergraduate degree with honors from Brown University. Seema joined Sheppard Mullin’s Entertainment and Digital Media Practice Group to combine her passion for creative content with her interest in business. With her background in writing, Seema brings a unique sense of appreciation for the content that she helps her clients to create.
