Trey Sims is an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in the firm's San Francisco office.

Areas of Practice

Trey solves workplace problems efficiently by balancing legal strategy against each client’s unique objectives and economic realities. He has extensive experience representing employers of all sizes in a wide variety of matters, including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, misclassification, wage and hour class actions, FCRA class actions, PAGA representative actions, ADA compliance for websites and properties, arbitration disputes, workplace investigations, and settlement negotiations. Beyond litigation, he also provides advice and counseling on all areas of employment law, including employee handbooks, agreements, discipline, terminations and procedures. 

During law school, Trey served as Judicial Extern to Hon. Charles A. Smiley in Alameda County Superior Court, Research Assistant to nationally renowned Intellectual Property professor Colleen Chien, and Associate on Santa Clara’s High Technology Law Journal. He also worked for a nationally ranked products liability firm in Silicon Valley and the San Francisco City Attorney Office’s Complex and Affirmative Litigation department. Prior to joining Sheppard Mullin, Trey focused exclusively on employment litigation, advice and counseling at an AmLaw 100 firm. Trey currently volunteers his time as an advisory board member to the Santa Clara University School of Law’s Center for Social Justice and Public Service.
