Michael Leake Named a 2024 Commercial Real Estate Leader
Michael Leake, partner and co-leader of the firm’s Real Estate, Energy, Land Use and Environmental practice group, was recognized among the San Diego Business Journal’s 2024 list of Leaders of Influence in Commercial Real Estate. Honorees are celebrated in a special edition of the publication that highlights their accomplishments and contributions to the commercial real estate industry.
Among Leake’s recent noteworthy transactions, the San Diego Business Journal noted his completion of real estate due diligence for Public Storage’s $2.2 billion acquisition of the Simply Self Storage portfolio, consisting of 127 wholly owned properties and 9 million net rentable square feet across 18 states, from Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. The acquisition will allow Public Storage to deepen it presence in high-growth Sunbelt markets as 65% of the properties are located in such areas.
