John Mysliwiec is an associate in the Business Trial Practice Group and Securities Enforcement and Litigation Team in the firm's San Diego (Del Mar) office.

Areas of Practice

John focuses his practice on complex business litigation matters and securities litigation. John regularly handles multi-party disputes involving contracts, fiduciary duties, trade secrets, corporate governance, construction and defect claims, employment claims, business tort, and fraud. He has represented clients in a broad range of industries including energy, trade secret, environmental, financial services, and construction matters. John has experience handling matters in all phases of litigation from the early stages before a complaint is filed, pleadings, motions, discovery, mediation, trial, and appeal.

John has both trial and arbitration experience, and has appeared on behalf of clients in state courts throughout California and before the American Arbitration Association and FINRA. John also counsels litigation clients on various business issues and manages disputes through alternative dispute resolution.

In his securities practice, John has represented financial services firms, registered representatives, and registered investment advisors in judicial and arbitration proceedings against allegations of unsuitability, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, elder abuse, breach of contract, and violations of federal and state securities laws. He also has experience representing registered representatives in expungement proceedings before FINRA and in state court, and has assisted financial services firms in regulatory proceedings before FINRA and the SEC.

Prior to law school, he taught middle school History and English in Indianapolis, Indiana as part of the Teach For America program.
