Nasdaq #TradeTalks
11.20.2020

Rena Andoh, partner and chair of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, appeared on Nasdaq #TradeTalks highlighting the firm’s Inclusive Engagement Task Force, which leads the firm’s efforts to address issues around race, inclusion and equality, including those that have arisen out of the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly with regard to the Asian community, and out of recent events that have brought to the fore the experiences of the Black community.

During the interview, Rena shares more about recent Task Force initiatives, including:

  • Co-founding The ABLE Project with Georgetown University Law Center’s Innovative Policing Program, a national training and support initiative focused on helping law enforcement agencies build a culture of peer intervention that prevents harm;
  • Working with Bridging the Gap, an organization founded by first-generation college students (including a Sheppard Mullin summer associate) that helps those interested in pursuing a career in law by sponsoring LSAT-related fees and by mentoring admitted students throughout law school and their careers; and
  • Establishing a partnership with public schools in New York City and Los Angeles to support them financially and with service, through career mentorship during school and beyond.
