Business Trial Partner Camille Vasquez Honored with Praeses Elit Award
Business Trial Partner Camille Vasquez received the Praeses Elit Award, an honor annually presented by the Trinity College Dublin Law Society (Lawsoc). This prestigious award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of law, inspiring future generations and paving the way for others in their respective disciplines.
Vasquez was presented with the award during a ceremony in Ireland on October 16. As part of the event, Vasquez sat down with Lawsoc Auditor Zoya Kherani, sharing insights into her path to law and reflections on her pivotal role in the landmark Depp v. Heard defamation trial.
As detailed in Kherani’s profile here, Vasquez successfully represented Depp in his suit against ex-wife Amber Heard, winning more than $10 million in damages on his behalf.
“When the opportunity arose, I earned the ability to rise to the challenge,” said Vasquez.
Since then, Vasquez has continued to represent celebrities and public figures in matters involving reputation and public perception. Most recently, she secured a complete dismissal of defamation and extortion claims brought against Texas attorney Tony Buzbee and The Buzbee Law Firm in a highly publicized lawsuit filed by American music mogul Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter in connection with pre-litigation demand letters and public statements relating to sexual assault allegations against Carter and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
