Working Mother Names Sheppard Mullin Among 2020 "Best Law Firms for Women"

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP was named by Working Mother magazine to its 13th annual “Best Law Firms for Women” list, recognizing firms that employ best practices in retaining and promoting women lawyers. This is Sheppard Mullin’s third year-in-a-row to appear on the list and the firm was among 60 firms to be recognized.

“Diversity and inclusion have never been more important,” said Guy N. Halgren, chairman of Sheppard Mullin.  “We take building and maintaining an inclusive environment for women very seriously, so it’s gratifying that our work has been recognized again. Kudos to all of our Diversity & Inclusion groups and leaders who work tirelessly to make Sheppard Mullin a great place for women.”

According to Working Mother, these firms offered reduced hours and encouraged more lawyers to work remotely and use flexible hours.  The number of women lawyers promoted to equity partner has increased by almost 25 percent in the past five years. Each of the recognized firms offers formal mentoring, and said that 50 percent of mentees are women.  Sheppard Mullin is proud to be part of that progress. The 2020 Working Mother Best Law Firms for Women application included more than 300 questions about attorney representation at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women.
