Cesar Pereira is special counsel in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's New York office.
Areas of Practice
Cesar is a former general counsel. His practice involves advising clients in all stages of a construction project. He has negotiated various forms of construction related agreements between and among owners, developers, contractors, construction managers, designers, sureties, operators, suppliers and subcontractors. This includes teaming, memorandum of understanding, joint venture, design and build, construction manager, interface, operation and maintenance, subcontract, rental, purchase, and professional service agreements, as well as, surety indemnity agreements and payment and performance bonds. He has worked with various forms of standard form agreements, including AIA, DBIA and ConsensusDocs.
Cesar has experience working with projects involving civil and heavy civil, commercial, residential and industrial construction, as well as design and build; design, bid and build; CM at risk; CM not at risk; and P3 methods of procurement. He regularly counsels clients during the execution phases of projects to help manage labor and compliance issues, resolve disputes, or reserve rights for a later dispute process. Cesar has represented clients pursuing or defending bid protests and disputes arising from defaults and terminations, extra work, differing site conditions, and delay claims in mediation, administrative proceedings, state and federal court, and arbitration.
