Through the unpredictability of produce, she’s fortified Frieda’s brand legacy, claiming her rightful seat at the table among produce legends. Witnessing the development of the first woman-owned business on the LA terminal market, Karen had a unique view of her mother’s impact on the American food culture, understanding the determination it would take to run a successful business. Taking the torch, she led the company to new heights, continuing to introduce more than 200 new fruits and vegetables to American shoppers. Karen’s determination and fortitude are signature features of the culture of the company she grew up leading. Now, working with her eldest daughter, the family tradition continues.
