Along with new consumer rights and obligations imposed on businesses, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) also includes an expansion of private enforcement through litigation and the creation of the California Privacy Protection Agency – the first regulatory agency in the United States dedicated to consumer privacy issues.  Due to the CPRA’s one-year lookback provision, businesses must be prepared for potential enforcement actions in 2023 for the decisions being made today.  Join us for a discussion of CPRA’s enforcement mechanisms and expected enforcement activity, lessons learned from California Privacy Protection Act enforcement, and compliance guidance for businesses subject to CPRA.
