Our Complimentary Fashion Week legal seminar will cover the topics you need to know if you plan to do business in China, Europe and Latin America.  Hear legal experts from around the world cover issues including joint venture, manufacturing and licensing agreements, intellectual property protection, taxation and trade regulation.

We have an exciting program with two panels featuring the following legal practitioners from Britain, Italy, Mexico and China:

Steve Sidkin from Fox Williams in London is the head of his firm's fashion practice and will be speaking about doing business in the United Kingdom. Having worked in menswear, Stephen is an avid believer in the power of brands and is proud to advise many of Fox Williams’ fashion clients on their commercial law needs. The work undertaken by him regularly includes advising on agency and distributorship agreements, trade mark licensing, franchises and competition law. Stephen has been publicly recognized as a leading authority on distributorship and agency law and, in particular, the Commercial Agents Regulations.

Federico Zanardi Landi from Jacobacci & Associati in Milan, Torino and Roma, who is a former in-house legal counsel at Agip Petroli S.p.A. and Recchi S.p.A. (2000/2001), will be speaking about doing business in Italy.

Gabriela Campos de Pablo from Barrera, Siqueiros Y Torres Landa, S.C. in Mexico, whose expertise is in trademark and copyright law and corporate and business law will speak about doing business in Mexico, including focusing on manufacturing and licensing agreements in Mexico and protecting intellectual property.

Ping Chu, from our Shanghai office will speak about doing business in China and address doing business in China (what are the new developments and what is the outlook (equity joint ventures (EJV) versus contractual joint ventures (CJV); the new Chinese tax laws and relaxation of foreign exchange controls; manufacturing and sourcing in China (making and enforcing agreements and practical considerations; and intellectual property rights in China (new laws and strategies).
