Through the better use of data, these cities are using resources more efficiently and productively, leading to lowered costs and creating a sustainable and thriving community for their citizens.
Invest in Denmark and it's sister organization Copenhagen Capacity would like to invite you to a thought provoking Roundtable on Smart Cities on 12th May 6:30-8:30 PM, in conjunction with the Internet of Things World Forum. The aim is to share ideas and insights on the use of the data created by smart cities – going beyond connecting devices to making sense of the data produced while balancing citizens’ needs and security concerns.
A leading, livable lab
Copenhagen ranks in the top 10 smart cities worldwide, and leads the way as a recognized leading green capital. It has the ambitious goal to be 1st carbon neutral capital by 2020. Denmark aims to be fossil fuel independent by 2050. Denmark has 3 out of 10 mid-sized smartest cities in the European Union. These cities are looking for new solutions and are open, lead users of new technologies. Once proven at scale, technologies can be easily scaled on a European level from Denmark.

Institute for the Future (IFTF) is an independent, nonprofit strategic research group with over 47 years of forecasting experience. Theis mission is to help organizations, communities, and individuals think systematically about the future. They pioneer tools and methods for building foresight and insight to drive more informed and thoughtful action today. IFTF is based in Palo Alto, California.
Copenhagen Solution Lab is leading the implementation of innovation and Smart City development in Copenhagen. The organization is responsible for the project Copenhagen Connecting, which won the prestigious World Smart Cities Award at the Smart City World Expo in Barcelona in 2014.
Cisco has entered into a groundbreaking deal with Copenhagen and two other Danish municipalities to research and develop on digital infrastructure within the Internet of Everything. Thereby Cisco is an important player in the ambitious goal of making Copenhagen the first fossil fuel independent capital in the world!
