Docket & Calendar Specialist
Sheppard Mullin's Docket & Calendar Department has an immediate opening for a full-time Docket & Calendar Specialist with a minimum of 2 years experience. Qualified candidates must have strong knowledge of State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure using an automated system, preferably Compulaw.
Primary responsibilities for this position include analyzing and reviewing all documents, discerning pertinent information and entering the required information into the docketing database, assisting with double-checking/reviewing docket entries for consistency and accuracy as well as processing matter intakes and generating weekly calendar reports.
Must be very detailed oriented. Must have the ability to research resource guides and various courts’ websites. Must be able to respond to department emails and phone inquiries from attorneys, secretaries, and paralegals regarding matter calendars and court procedures. Successful candidate must be a faster learner, able to multi-task, work independently, and take initiative in a very busy department. Must be very flexible and adaptable to changing department procedures when necessary. Computer knowledge required, with typing speed of 45+ wpm; accuracy is essential. Punctuality and good attendance are very important. Occasional overtime is required.
