Overview
Nayan Karanth is an associate in the Corporate Practice Group in the firm's Century City office and is a lead associate of the Sports Industry Team. Nayan represents private equity firms, public companies, privately-held companies, founders and owners in merger and acquisitions, equity financings, and other capital raising transactions in a diverse array of industries, including sports, technology, media and entertainment.
As a lead associate of the firm’s Sports Industry Team, Nayan has extensive experience in representing clients, which include owners of sports franchises, universities, municipalities and entertainment venues, in all aspects of sports related matters. Nayan also represents clients involved in providing venues and services for the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympic and Paralympic Games, such as UCLA, USC, and the City of Pasadena/Rose Bowl Operating Company.
Nayan also has a passion for early stage company counseling, advising on business formation and structuring, capital raising transactions, corporate governance and commercial issues. Nayan graduated from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where he participated in the Documentary Film Legal Clinic and earned specializations in Taxation Law and Media, Entertainment, Technology and Sports Law and Policy. During law school, Nayan interned for WEBTOON and Sheppard Mullin.
Prior to law school, Nayan worked as an accountant in the tax department of The Walt Disney Company. Nayan is also a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia.
