IP Partner Carina Tan Joins Sheppard Mullin Palo Alto

Firm Continues Strategic Expansion of IP Practice & Silicon Valley Presence With Trademark & Patent Prosecution Attorney

Carina M. Tan has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property practice group, based in the firm's Palo Alto office.  Tan joins from Reed Smith. 

Tan counsels clients on intellectual assets design and protection, enforcement of intellectual property rights in U.S. Federal District Courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission, licensing, sale or acquisition of intellectual property, M&A IP due diligence and IP backed financing.  Her background in technologies includes communication networks and devices, wireless technology, packet network performance, network security systems, cyber content management, computer architecture, software and Internet applications, semiconductor devices, global positioning systems, renewable energy technology and social media technology.

Tan received a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1996, a M.A. and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1987 and 1985, respectively.
