IP Partner Michael Solomita Joins Sheppard Mullin New York

Patent Litigator Brings Trial, Prosecution, and Licensing Expertise To Growing Office

Michael V. Solomita has joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP as a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, based in the firm's New York office. Mr. Solomita joins from Amster, Rothstein & Ebenstein.

"Mike is a well-known and well-regarded patent litigator, who is an excellent addition to our formidable IP practice group. He has represented a variety of leading technology companies, many of which are Japanese corporations, and has significant litigation and patent jury trial experience," said Guy N. Mr. Solomita has extensive experience handling a broad range of intellectual property rights matters, including litigation, licensing, opinions, and prosecution. Patent litigation and licensing have been a centerpiece of his practice. Mr. Solomita has focused on patent issues in diverse high technology areas, such as LCDs, airborne biological detectors, laser printers, chemical refrigerants, DRAMS, lithographic printing plates, electric motors, glass coatings, hard disk drives, medical sensors, analog and digital circuits, cellular phones, nuclear diaphragms, digital cameras, video recorders, batteries, semiconductor manufacturing, LEDs, compressors, and axial flow fans.

Mr. Solomita has twice worked in Japan as in-house patent counsel for Panasonic Corporation. There he spearheaded patent licensing programs, directed litigations, and provided client counseling in all areas of patent law.

Mr. Solomita received a J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School in 1997 and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, cum laude, from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering in 1992.

Sheppard Mullin has 60 attorneys based in its New York office. The firm's Intellectual Property practice group includes 100 attorneys firm wide.
