He represents an important strategic fit for our antitrust practice, specifically adding EU competition capabilities," said Guy Halgren, chairman of Sheppard Mullin.

"Oliver’s work with Samsung, as well as in Japan, dovetails well with our relationships with longstanding client Samsung and our Japanese-based matters. We are thrilled to add such a high caliber antitrust attorney,” commented Gary Halling, Sheppard Mullin’s Antitrust and Competition practice group leader.

"I am delighted to join Sheppard Mullin, a top-notch full service firm that offers an excellent platform for my practice and further growth. In addition to the synergies and the strength and breadth of the firm’s antitrust practice, I am also impressed with Sheppard Mullin’s successful national and international growth and expansion in recent years. I am excited to be part of this and the opportunity to help build the firm's competition practice here in Europe," Heinisch stated.

He has substantial expertise in advising on the interface between intellectual property and competition law mainly in the context of complaint cases, investigations of competition authorities and intellectual property litigation. Heinisch’s additional experience includes advising on parallel imports, complex IP licensing, R&D and cooperation arrangements. The majority of his clients are technology and life sciences companies, and he also works for financial services, insurance, automotive, industrial and food clients.

After studying in Heidelberg, Geneva and Berlin, Heinisch was a stagiaire at the European Commission.
