Global Competition Review ranked Sheppard Mullin's Antitrust practice as a "Recommended" firm in California in its 2009 GCR 100 guide.

The firm was noted for its strength in California and the Antitrust practice group’s leadership under Gary Halling, who “is representing Samsung in the Department of Justice's investigation of the alleged DRAM memory chip cartel, as well as the related federal and indirect purchaser class actions.” Also highlighted was the team’s representation of Samsung in the Department of Justice's liquid crystal display cartel inquiry and in its flash memory price-fixing investigation.
