Raymond Marshall Receives 2025 Bill Edlund Award for Professionalism in the Law
Raymond Marshall was honored as the 2025 recipient of the Bill Edlund Award for Professionalism in the Law Award by The Northern District Historical Society and the Ninth Judicial Circuit Historical Society. Named after trial lawyer Bill Edlund, known for his excellence in advocacy, civility, commitment to the legal profession and leadership in the Bay Area community, The Edlund Award recognizes attorneys who practice in the Northern District and exemplify these qualities.
Marshall is a member of Sheppard Mullin’s Governmental Practice, with a focus on white collar and investigations, fiduciary duties, and environmental, social & governance issues. He served on Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s Judicial Advisory Committee for the Northern District of California; as an adviser to the American Law Institute on the Model Penal Code Sentencing Project; as past-President of the ABA Retirement Fund Board of Directors; as a member of the ABA Standing Committee on Federal Judiciary; and as former president of both the State Bar of California and the Bar Association of San Francisco. In addition to his professional affiliations, Ray is involved in multiple community organizations and serves on the boards of the Equal Justice Society, the United Negro College Fund and HomeBase/The Center for Common Concerns.
Marshall will be honored as the 2025 Bill Edlund Award for Professionalism in the Law Award recipient at a reception in San Francisco this fall.
