Isaiah Weedn and Sheppard Mullin Awarded Thurgood Marshall Bar Association's Community Organization of the Year Award

06.20.2022

The Thurgood Marshall Bar Association (TMBA) has selected associate Isaiah Weedn and Sheppard Mullin as co-recipients of its 2022 Community Organization of the Year Award. This annual award honors an organization or firm that advances justice, equality and empowerment within the community.

According to TMBA, Sheppard Mullin has embodied the vision and mission of TMBA for many years in its pro bono work, commitment to diversity and inclusion along with the demonstrated service to the community. Most recently, under the direction of Weedn, Sheppard Mullin led the charge in assisting the African American communities’ needs for legal services, including helping establish a legal clinic in Orange County. Weedn personally ensured the needs of the community were being addressed through the clinic and through scholarship funding for minority law students.

Honorees were celebrated during a brunch held at the Fifth Rooftop Restaurant in Orange County on June 18.
