Overview

Christopher Comstock is special counsel in the Business Trial Practice Group in the firm's Chicago office. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation across a variety of industries, including financial services, fintech, telecommunications, and consumer goods. He represents clients in jury trials, arbitration and mediation, appellate proceedings, and regulatory matters before federal and state agencies. Chris has argued before trial and appellate courts throughout the country, as well as arbitration forums including AAA, JAMS, and FINRA.

Chris also maintains a pro bono practice representing clients in asylum proceedings and other immigration matters. He has represented pro bono immigration clients in federal court and before Immigration Judges.

Areas of Practice

Financial Services: Chris’s financial services practice covers complex litigation and class actions involving mortgage securitization, RICO, fraud, conspiracy, Ponzi schemes, anti-money laundering, Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS), qui tam, and numerous federal and state consumer statutes (e.g., FCRA, FDCPA, TCPA, etc.).

Class Actions & Complex Commercial Disputes: Chris advises and represents clients in class actions and other high-stakes commercial disputes on issues including breach of contract, indemnification, trade secrets and intellectual property, and state and federal statutes.

Telecommunications: Chris’s telecommunications practice involves advising clients in connection with issues relating to the Telecommunications Act of 1996 and other relevant laws and regulations. Chris represents telecommunications companies in regulatory proceedings and court cases at both the trial and appellate levels.
