Daniel Clausen is a special counsel in the Corporate Practice Group in the firm's New York office.
Areas of Practice
Dan focuses his practice on investment management. He advises clients on the structuring and formation of private investment funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, hybrid funds, debt and loan origination funds, and fund-of-funds. Dan's experience with fund investment strategies ranges from long/short equity to private debt to middle-market direct lending to natural resources to solar energy credit investing. He also advises funds in connection with their ongoing investment and other activities, including fund restructurings. Dan also advises clients regarding single investor funds and separately managed accounts.
Dan also counsels clients regarding establishing an investment adviser management company and provides advice on regulatory and compliance matters, including adviser registration and developing compliance policies and procedures.
Dan also represents investors seeking to invest in private funds, including reviewing fund terms and negotiating side letters.
