Arlington, VA
12.04.2017

Hyatt Regency Crystal City
2799 Jefferson Davis Hwy
Arlington, VA 22202

The Government Contract Management Symposium (GCMS) is held annually by the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) in the Washington, DC metro area. Formerly intended for those in federal sector, it has grown to provide training for professionals in both government and industry contracting.

This year's symposium consists of keynote addresses from cybersecurity and technology leaders, nontraditional panel discussions, 30 breakout sessions, and many networking opportunities with 1,000+ contract management professionals. New this year, we're offering a Defense-Focused Forum, a special Monday afternoon event for the defense acquisition community with an emphasis on defense-specific acquisition changes and challenges.

The Defense Technology Challenge (2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.)

Government and industry leaders will discuss acquiring new technology in today’s rapidly changing and highly competitive technology environment. How can DoD maintain state-of-the-art support from new, leading edge technology companies reluctant to become involved with government red-tape and oversight? How can businesses supporting DoD hire the best and brightest technology experts who prefer to work for Google, Amazon, or Apple? Let’s find out how some defense organizations make it happen.

Speakers:

  • John Chierichella, Partner, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton
  • Camron Gorguinpour, PhD, Principal for Strategy, Wōden LLC
  • Wendy Masiello, Lt. General, USAF (ret.)
